Bhawna has become the second Indian female competitor to win the award at the Paralympics, after Deepa Malik, who won a silver medal in Shotput F43 in 2016.
Addressing TOI from Tokyo after winning the silver, the para paddler said, “I gave my 100% in the last one. Although I was unable to win the gold, I am happy with my normal presentation. I have made history by winning. Paralympics An award in table tennis in India is a great achievement in itself, and I am very happy that I have won this achievement with my hard work.
